You ever leave a conversation feeling smaller than when you walked in?
You shared something real —
a dream,
a plan,
a glimpse of what you’re building inside —
and suddenly you didn’t feel as sure anymore.
The light dimmed.
The excitement shrank.
Something that felt alive now felt... fragile.
That’s what happens when you hand sacred things to people who weren’t meant to hold them.
It’s not always malice.
Sometimes it’s fear in their voice.
Sometimes it’s silence.
Sometimes it’s just that subtle shift in energy —
a delay before they respond,
a look that doesn’t match the words.
And you try to brush it off.
Try to keep believing.
But inside, something shifts.
You start questioning the very thing that once felt divine.
Because here’s what no one says out loud:
Even the people who love you can feel a way when you grow.
Not because they want to harm you.
But because your rising exposes the part of them that’s still standing still.
And if you're not careful, you'll shrink your own vision just to keep them comfortable.
Let me tell you a story.
A farmer once found a rare seed tucked inside a pouch left behind by his grandfather.
He didn’t know what kind of seed it was — only that it felt sacred. Like it carried history.
So he told his family.
Told his neighbors.
Held it up for everyone to see.
Some laughed and said, “That’ll never grow in this soil.”
Others warned, “You’re wasting your time. That kind of thing takes too long.”
The seed hadn’t even touched the ground yet, and already the doubt started creeping in.
He second-guessed his instincts.
Started looking for faster-growing crops.
Something easier. Something safer.
Eventually, he tossed the seed aside.
Buried something more familiar in its place.
Years later, he found out what kind of seed it was:
A slow-growing tree.
One that takes years to sprout, but when it does —
its roots run deep,
its branches stretch wide,
and its fruit feeds generations.
But by then, it was too late.
He’d traded longevity for speed.
Depth for approval.
Legacy for comfort.
That’s what happens when you let too many people speak into what was never theirs to begin with.
The vision was for you.
The calling was yours.
And some things are meant to grow in the dark — unseen, unspoken, but deeply alive.
Every dream doesn’t belong in a group chat.
Every idea isn't meant for your cousin, your coworker, your childhood friend.
Let it root.
Let it rise in private.
Let it become unshakable before you let it be seen.
Because when it’s really from God,
you won’t have to explain it.
It’ll speak for itself.
